I love sailing at BBYC! The club has everything you could hope for—friendly people, a welcoming atmosphere, and great facilities that make it easy to get out on the water, whether you’re racing, cruising, or simply enjoying the bay. I started as a new sailor, building my skills by crewing in Friday twilight races. From there, I learned to trim a spinnaker during bay races and even had a go at helming on the way home. Between racing in all kinds of conditions and joining the local Cruising Division activities, I was well prepared for the incredible adventure of sailing all the way up to Cairns.
